Lesego Motsiri lives and practises in Bloemfontein, where he did 5-year B.A. Fine Arts training at the University of Free State. He specializes in digital art, photography and video art.
In 2020 his work was selected for the Art Bank of South Africa, the TIRO YA DIATLA exhibition and he was one of the top 13 finalists of the WHAT’S THE STORY? – The Budapest Diary Art Gallery Creative Space, International photography contest. He took part in the District Six 50th Commemoration Print Exchange (hosted by District Six Art Museum) and made it to the semi-final of the Sasol New Signatures Art Competition (2016). He had a solo exhibition at the Central University of Technology, Bloemfontein Art Gallery, titled The_Black_Season_17 in 2017. The same collection of artworks was used in collaboration with Motlatsi Moeketsi Khotle (choreographer) for a 2 hour theatre dance production titled; Black Season, which premiered at Ernest Oppenheimer Theatre (Bloemfontein) in 2017 and 2018. Lesego is a member of the Free State Art Collective and has taken part in the FSAC national exhibitions Betwixt & Between, LOCKDOWN (online exhibition) and the Free State Art Collective exhibition at Gallery 2 in 2021.
